1. Discover
Learn about the problem you are solving. Learn what questions you
want to answer. Research customers, analyze competitors, and state
goals.
2. Listen
Learn about your users, their environments, and goals. Conduct
interviews and observe. This stage is about listening and reserving
judgement.
3. Synthesize
Summarize research. Define the scope of the problem. Create
personas of your target users or a journey map of their experiences.
4. Ideate
Brainstorm. Don't stop at the first possible solution. Collaborate
with others and iterate through ideas.
5. Prototype
Build your ideas. Create low, medium, and high fidelity versions
as you iterate. Low fidelity often means wireframes while high
fidelity is essentially the final product.
6. Refine
Experiment. Get feedback from users. Refine your ideas based on
that feedback and repeat the process.
